Ward Christmas Party

Last night was our ward's Christmas party, and it was a very memorable party.  We drove to the church, set up a dish of by mom's famous ( well, at least in our family) cheesy potatoes, and sat down, ready to eat.  There was a girl sitting at a table all alone so mom invited her to sit with us. That is just the way my mom is, she will invite most everyone or anyone to sit with us if they are alone.  So the girl came over and we started to talk to her.  It turns out that her name was Honiva, and she was staying with the Jenkin's over Christmas.  She was born in Madagascar, so you would wonder why she would be way up here in Idaho Falls, The most UNtropical place on the planet.  Well, she went on a mission to Washington D.C., where she met the Jenkin's on their mission.  She came here and happened to be at the ward Christmas party.  It was really cool when we started to talk about the native stuff in Madagascar, which is really not at ALL like Dream Works portrayed it.
We ate all of my mom's cheesy potatoes REAL fast.  I gave Honiva the hint to take my mom's potatoes, and she took them, but different ones later and she whispered to me " These cheesy potatoes have nothing on your mom's."
After we ate, The Young Women sang 'The Jingle Bell Rock' and 'The First Noel' and then it was the Young Men sang one verse of ' Joy to the World'. It went Ok, but the funny part came when Parker(one of Gabe's friends) started singing when the piano wasn't playing.  Then we ( the Primary) got up there and sang 3 songs. After that one of Santa's helpers came in and had us sit on his lap. When we were getting in line, Brother Carvajal said "Naughty ones  first so you can straighten things up with Santa." Ashtyn, Who is really very funny Chugs to the front of the line and says," Naughty ones first! I am SO in the front!"  Here is how my conversation with him went. I assume you will know who is talking, but I will put initials, Just in case.
 (S)"How old are you?"
(L)" I am 11"
(S) "What is your name?"
(L)"Lacey."
(S) " So, What do you want for Christmas?"
(L) " I really want a Cricut."
(S) " Like one of them lil' bugs?"
(L) " No. This Cricut cuts out shapes and you can glue them together and make really cool stuff."
(S) " So you wouldn't be happy if I brought you a grasshopper?"
(L) " No, we get plenty of those during summer, and, my little sister likes to pull off their legs."
(S) "I hear Grasshopper legs are good eatin'. Just like frog legs. Those taste like chicken."
I was just smiling right there. Didn't quite know what to say.
(S) "So you want a candy cane?"
(L) "Sure! Thank You.
That is pretty much all that happened at our Ward Christmas Party.

Hidin' it .........

Tonight we played a rather vicious game of keep away with a little plastic fish.  I know this a Pathetic keep away prize, but we were all fighting for it REAL hard.  It was me, Hannah and Sydney vs. Molly.  Unfair matching, I know, but this was one fun game!  We were all running around and taunting the other team, waving the little fishie in the air.  We actually ended up in a big pile, all grabbing at the fish .  I won the game by grabbing the fish from under Molly.  After we fought for it for a little while longer, Hannah hid it under her legs and siad in whispery voice " I'm hidin' it!"
Just one more funny from the George Household.

Babysitting and Feet

For the past 2 or 3 weeks I have been working an a baby sitting box. The contents are; Match box cars, 2 coloring books ( one Princess and one penguin) a phone number book, a pen, a kaleidoscope, a plastic dinosaur
some mints, and a book ( in case I get bored).
Last night my mom got me my first babysitting job.  It was from 5 to 8.  I was pretty exited, and I had a lot of fun.  When they came and picked me up, the little girls' parents came and talked to me.  They left me a phone number on the counter, told me that the baby was asleep and that when she wakes up make her a corn dog or something.  5 minutes after her parents left, the baby (Maggie) woke right up.  Her sisters ( Avari and Ellie, Avari usually called Ava) heard her while they were coloring. So I went and got her, and made her a corn dog.It turns out that Ava was still hungry after eating pizza earlier.  After that we went downstairs and played a couple rounds of hide-and-seek.  The 2 littlest obviously got bored with that very quickly.  They wanted to watch a movie.  Ava didn't so I braided her hair into piggy-tail braids.  It took us a while because we kept on debating on whether they were even or not.  The movie was very scratched so eventually, It would pause for a minute at a time.  We went back upstairs and colored some more. It had been there for 3 hours and their parents paid me 17 whole dollars.  I told them that it was WAY, WAY too much, but they insisted that I take it, so now I owe $2.25 in tithing( five from G-ma seventeen from them).
Now, you are probably wondering why I wrote 'Feet' in my subtitle. That is because this morning I was on the floor, crossing my legs.  Hannah was laying next to me, so she grabbed my foot and took a whiff.  She pretended to die, apparently because my foot odor killed her.  I was thinking ' Do my feet really smell that bad?  They shouldn't, I took a shower yesterday!' Just wanted to share a funny thing that happened in our household.
That is all I have to write because nothing else exiting happened yesterday.

Hannah's Birthday

Today is December 9th.  It is Hannah's Birthday, and what a birthday it was.  Today when we got home, Hannah had her friend Olivia over.  They were on the couch watching a movie.  Hannah and Olivia had had a birthday party with each other.  When Olivia went home it was time for some barbie cake decorating.  We decorated the cake and had our Grandma and Grandpa George over as well as Grandma Syndergaard.  Aunt Liz and Uncle Jay were there too.  A long long list of what Hannah got;24 tubes of lip gloss ( one fake 23 real) in 17 different flavors, 3 or 4 very cute outfits,a comb, a brush, clip on earrings,a pearl necklace, five dollars , and MANY, MANY,hugs and kisses.
Mom also made a very good logical point at the dinner table tonight.  "Really," Mom said "This is Hannah's 5th birthday.  Her first birthday was the day she was born.  She was zero on on that birthday."  It makes a lot of sense to me.  I would say Hannah got a lot more presents that me but, I liked mine a lot better.
That is how Hannah's Birthday went.

Wal-Mart Singers

We were at Wal-Mart today and there were 5 or 6 girls out by the Salvation Army coin bucket.  They were singing Christmas carols and ringing little strings of bells.  We donated some quarters then went inside.  all throughout the store Hannah was singing 'Jingle Bells'.  It was really cute at first but began to get annoying after 35 minutes of it.  When we were in the car, Sydney and Hannah sang at the top of their lungs.  Ya, after all of that singing in the store it got really annoying.
Speaking of singing, Molly, Gabe and I are singing in the church choir. We are singing 3 or 4 songs.
We are going down to grandma's to watch the finale of the Biggest Loser so I'd better go.
P.S. We are rooting for Danny!

Man, it is COLD!

Well, today, yesterday and Friday have been bitter cold.  It wasn't even the Cristmassy kind of cold.  My definition of the Christmassy cold is nice warm house, sipping cocoa, eating Santa cookies and in front of a hot fireplace.  It is the harsh wind, mean clouds kind of cold.  The kind of cold I call below zero misery.  Lewis and Clark should not have charted this freezing cold state.  Sorry Carly,(who is my aunt in Vegas, and is coming up for Christmas and is wishing for nice weather here) I wish I could warm it up too.But forget the warm (or even nice) weather here.  When you guys come up for Christmas, bring lots of cold weather clothes because Idaho is stubborn when it comes to making people miserable with its cold, cold weather.
To talk about something else, I am very full right now because my mom just made a really nice good Sunday dinner.  I've really got nothing else to do, so I am blogging.  Since I got this for my birthday, I have not stopped.  But now I have to, cause I have to go.

Taylor Swift

If you have recently read my blog, I posted about that iPod I got from Gabe.  I just loaded up like 28 Taylor Swift songs.  Molly recently put those on iTunes and since then I have been totally obsessed with her music.  Come to think of it, I'm listening to her right now.  My favorite song from her is Our Song.  I LOVE it!  I also just made some delicious fudge. That is all I've got to write so I am done with blogging today.

A Well Spent 10 Dollars

Over Black Friday,Molly and Gabe ordered their new iPods.  I got Gabe's old one,and only for ten dollars.  It was a very well spent 10 dollars.  There are 4 games on it, a lot of music, and some other pretty good stuff.  I was really exited!  It is pretty cool.  As you maybe know, a brand new iPod costs around 130 or 140 dollars.  I got a real good deal.  The thing is even still in pretty good shape.
Also on Tuesday it is the real DMA so I'm a little jittery.  I better go!

How did that become gaga?

On Tuesday it was a historic day at the George Family household.  Hannah threw away her last gaga (binkey) in the trash.  I even got a picture of it in the garbage, but that is way too gross to post on my blog.  Hannah has been sucking her  binkey since she was a little little girl.  Sometime when she was a little, little girl something clicked in her brain.  We kept on saying binkey.  She decided from then on that it was called a gaga, not a pacifier or binkey.  Ever since she has called it exactly that.  It took her till she was 2 months before her fourth birthday to give it up.  I have to admit, I got sick of them and eventually started to secretly throw them away.  I also have to admit that it was really cute when Hannah would flip it upside-down with her tongue and flip it back upside right with her tongue again.  Well, we love our little girl with a  pacifier or without.

Christmas is coming quick!

Today I am doing all of my Christmas shopping.  I just want to get it done so that I will not have to worry about it.  I pretty much have an outline of what I want to get my brother and sisters.  I don't quite know what to get my mom and dad though.  It will be nice to have it out of the way.
It is now 11:40 and I have done all of my cleaning for today.  Thanks to my sweet Aunt Jenny , I am now hooked on blogging.  I don't think I mind being hooked though.  I did two posts yesterday and this is my second post in 3 hours.  Well, at least I have something to do during my week off.  I'm sure that I will be blogging  alot this week.  Other than lounging, I'll be reading, and doing probably 4 or 5 posts a day.  How fun!  Today as our job we cleaned the baseboards.  It is very monotonous work,I tell you.  The same thing over and over and over again.  We also did all of our bathrooms and bedrooms on Saturday.  During the whole week I will probably clean.
That is pretty much all I have to say( for right now!)

Week off =Lots of Lounging

Well we get one whole week off from school!  Today and tomorrow are teacher workdays, and the rest of the week is Thanksgiving holiday.  Well, I figured something out.  Week off from school=Lots of Lounging.  At 8:01 ( which is usually when I am at school) I am still in my P.J s and slippers and as an added bonus I'm blogging.  My hair is not done, my feet are bare and I am rather cozy.
Last night for dinner we had a lot of food.  There was chicken, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy.  We ate and ate and ate.  It was delicious!  For desert we had peanut brittle.  And this makes it even better it was Grandma's peanut brittle.  We still have some and it is going away quick.
It is SO cold outside today.  If you read my last post, We are covered in a LAYER (notice I did not say blanekt) of  cold cold snow.  Man , I am very glad I did not have to walk to the bus stop today.  I feel it in my bones I am going to be semi-bored all week this week. I am so glad that I got 3 books from the library.
    See you every one!

A blanket of snow..........

Today Amy  had to leave because it was snowing.  Snowing HARD.  Well as you guessed today We were covered in a deep, fluffy, COLD, pretty blanket of  white, sparkly, COLD,snow.  If you ask me I don't know why they call it blanket of snow.  Here's why; snow = cold and blanket = warm.  See snow and blanket are total opposites.  So really the phrase ' A blanket of snow' makes NO sense whatever.

Sumo Wrestling on Sunday

Not very spiritual I know.  But it wasn't me who was sumo wrestling on Sunday.  If  I was to take a wild stab at it , I would have totally guessed Sydney.  But no!  The one who was wrestling was believe it or not was Molly!  Well it was a little bit of Sydney too. This morning while I was playing my piano, Molly and Sydney were chasing each other and ramming chests with the other.  My mom told me to go get my camera, to take a pic ture.  Molly was all wrapped up in blankets and she looked VERY fat.  Yep, I took a pretty good picture of her.

Beetles , DWAs, and Thanksgiving

Well two Wednesdays ago we did a practice for the DWA ( Direct Writing Assessment) and had to wirte about a bug.  I know right?  A bug?  Sounds like fun huh?  The scores you can get are a -1, 1, +1, -2, 2 ,+2 etc.   4+,being the highest, is a REALLY good score.  Now on this particular practice, my teacher traded the papers from us to another school.  This teacher gave me a 4+! here is the story I wrote.
                                                                   Hannah's Beetle
Do you have a younger brother or sister that loves every bug they see?  I certainly do!  My little sister has loved lots of bugs, but I remember this one best.
"Lacey!  Come look at my beetle!" my youngest sister Hannah yelled.  "I'm coming Hannah!" I yelled back.  It had been an awesome Thursday.  My uncles had come to help my mom, who had broken her wrist, paint our house.
As I walked into my three year old sister's bedroom, I immediately saw what she called me for.  In a small plastic lunch baggie there was a small, shiny, ugly, black beetle.
I like bugs, so I asked Hannah where she got it." Me and Micheal and Scotty found it outside!" Hannah said, loving the prospect of having a new pet.  Her cheeks were still rosy from being outside. " That is really cool Hannie!" I replied.
The next day was Friday.  It was a very typical, normal Friday. The routine was the same as ever. Get up, get dressed, go to school, be bored all day, come home.
After a (very boring) school day,I was in Hannah's room helping my mommy.  Hannah was playing with her (almost dead) beetle.  Apparently the beetle was not doing what she wanted it to because Hannah started to squish her beetle.
" No Hannah! Don't kill i......" I said but I was too late.  Hannah had already killed her bug.
This was one of many bugs that Hannah has loved. Well, at least I thought that she loved it.

Well, that is my story .and by the way Happy Thanksgiving to everybody who reads this.
P.S. I'm still tyring to get my Birthday Pictures up! Be patient!

Melelueca

Today our class went to the Melelueca Distribution Plant.  We learned all about Melelueca and how far it came.  It was very cool!  We saw all of the boxes being shipped out and how strict their policy is.  If bottle of pills does not have the right amount of pills in it there is a machine that can detect a weight difference that small.
There were a TON of conveyer belts. It was awesome!
Also I would like to put out pics of my Birthday.  Be patient!   I will get them on as soon as I can

MY BIRTHDAY

Today is my birthday! I turned 11 years old. It is Monday, and it was really fun and exiting. Yesterday was my daddy's birthday so my George grandparents came for a two-in-one visit. My aunts also came. Since they came over yesterday, I opened my presents while they were here. My Grandpa and Grandma George gave me a 14 karat gold necklace. My Aunt Liz and Uncle Jay gave me a REALLY cute sweater that I wore to school today. We ate my daddy's birthday cake and talked and laughed and had an amazing time. My Grandma Syndergaard and Aunt Julie were also among the party goers.
My dad got the movie "Up"(which is a total hoot, you should SO see it if you have not!) My dad works in Logan during the week and he comes home on the weekends. It wasn't 5 minutes after he came in the door on Friday night when my smaller sister Hannah spilled the beans.
"Can I tell him, mommy?" Hannah said to Mom.
"Well," Mom said "Its not his birthday, and I think you should wait, but it is up to you." When I asked my Mom what she had said, she told me that saying "its UP to you" was her undoing.
After Mom said this Hannah covered her mouth, shaking with excitement. " We got you 'Up'!!!" Hannah shouted, not being able to hold it in any longer.
It has been a pretty awesome birthday day!Today since my papa has to go to Logan, he took
me out to breakfast. We took Sydney too. We were missing school so my dad started to tease us about being caught by a truancy officer. Once Sydney (my stinker of a little sister) pointed out the window and said "Look ! There is the truancy officer!" Well, it is natural to look when somebody says look. So obviously I looked. I got teased about that for the rest of breakfast.
Before we went to breakfast, I opened my present! It was exactly what I wanted, a red Canon digital camera. Also, after school my adorable, awesome Aunt Jenny( I love ya Jenny) called me and helped me set up this super fun blog.
Tonight we are having roast beef and mashed potatoes ! Grandma Syndergaard came over and gave me her present, an adorable watch that matches my favorite church dress.
Well, that pretty much recaps my birthday.
