Life's A Happy Song

My new favorite song of late is Life's a Happy Song from the new Muppet movie. I love it. Its just kinda awesome and it pretty much sums up my life! Life is so good. It knows how to treat people right.
Everything is great
Everything is grand
I got the whole wide world in the palm of my hand
•Everything IS great. And grand. And most of the time I feel like I do have the whole world in my hands. I control my life. I can do what I want, and my decisions determine who I am.
Everything is perfect
It’s falling into place
I can’t seem to wipe this smile off my face
OK, I admit, not EVERYTHING is perfect. But its just one of those days that I am so happy to be alive. All the good vibes are with me. I mowed a lawn. And I cleaned the pantry, with music. I was sorta belting it out SO loud. But it made me so happy. And then on top of all of that, I went boating. And I dominated the knee board.
Life’s a happy song, when there’s someone by my side to sing along
BEST LINE EVER!
When you’re alone, life can be a little low
It makes you feel like you’re 3 foot tall
When it’s just you – well, times can be tough
When there’s no one there to catch your fall
I don't know who wrote all of these songs. But they know how to capture life. In melody and words. Bravo!
Life smells like a rose

With someone to paint
And someone to pose
Life’s like a piece of cake
With someone to pedal
And someone to break
Life is full of glee
With someone to saw
And someone to see
Life’s a happy song, when there’s someone by my side to sing along
I’ve got everything that I need – right in front of me
Nothing’s stopping me
Nothing that I can’t be
With you right here next to me
Life’s a piece of cake
With someone to give
And someone to take
Life’s a piece of pie
With someone to wash
And someone to dry
Life’s an easy road
With someone beside you to share the load
Life is full of highs
With someone to stir
And someone to fry
Life’s a leg of lamb
With someone there to lend a hand
Life’s a bunch of flowers
With someone to while away the hours
Life’s a filet of fish, eh!
….yes, it is
Life’s a happy song, when there’s someone by your side to sing along
•Everything is a lot easier when you're surrounded by supportive people who love you. I think that these shall be my new wall-quotes. All of them.
Life's  a happy song, when there's someone by your side to sing along!

Summer.....I love you

I went outside today. I took a breath. Then I breathed in REALLY deep through my nose. Because it is here. Summer smells. Of wonderful stuff. Like grass. And sun.....I feel like its possible to smell heat. And no school for three entire months. Which equals pure joy. Oh yay. I have been waiting on you summer. And it looks like you are here. And it sounds like you are here. And it tastes and feels like you are here...hamburgers for dinner is summer. But the most noticeable thing is that you SMELL like you are here, my dearest summertime!

Little Moments with Hannah

Hannie Bananie. Pumpkin. Stinker, Nana, silly, goof ball, Hannah.
She makes me smile. In so may ways.
The other night, mom and I were sitting in my parent's room. My mom was sewing, and I was petting the dog. The little girlies were getting ready for bed.
Out of the blue, Hannah yells "Mom!"
Mom- In that 'I'm working and focusing so wait a second' voice. "Ya?"
Hannah- Not hearing her, "MOm!"
Mom- Still concentrating "Yes?"
Hannah-STILL not hearing her "MMMOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!!"
Mom- "YEEEESSSSS????????"
Hannah- "I'm not going to wear any pants tonight OK?"
Me- I start laughing my head off. Hannah goes to a whole lot of stinking trouble to tell Mom and I that she isn't going to wear any pants tonight.
Mom- Rolls her eyes and continues to sew.

The other day Hannah told me that we were going to "play"
I didn't know that playing involved a photoshoot. It was great fun. She is a cute model.
Hannah, you have my heart. For "really reals".

Thank You Ted

This post is dedicated to one of my favorite authors of all time. Maybe one of everyone's favorite author. He provides insight to real life problems through wacky stories about wockets in pockets and made up Lorax's and randomly colored eggs and ham. And yes I'm sure that anyone who has read any children's literature ever knows who I am talking about. The One and only beloved Dr. Seuss. Also known as Theodore Geisle.
Dear old Ted's birthday was on Friday and I remembered as I read to a darling 3rd grader the joys of silly books. I know that Oh Say Can You say isn't exactly as educational as we all would like it to be. But nonetheless... ITS FUN!!!
Oh dear, the memories of childhood. Technically I am a teenager now, but I still can't resist reading Green Eggs and Ham. Don't know who can... but anyways I love his books.
                                                   Favorite Memories of favorite books.
•Green Eggs and Ham- My favorite line off the top of my head is 'I will not eat them in a house, I will not eat them with a mouse. I will not eat them in a box, I will not eat them with a fox.' Good moral though, don't judge a book by its cover. And I'm sure that when it came out, people were like "I am not sure if I should look at this book, it looks like it was written by a deranged lunatic." But look at that it is now considered by me (and hopefully more than me) as a classic children's book.
•Oh The Places You'll Go- I think that Dr Seuss believed in us. I think that he wanted all little kids that read that book to know that there are great and wonderful things in store for us. He had faith that we all could do extraordinary things, go to fantastic places and think brilliant thoughts. as Christopher Robin so aptly put it,
"Promise me you'll always remember:You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think."
•The Sneeches- I remember reading this with my neighbor Nita. I love Nita. Everyone loves Nita. And I love this book. Its really awesome and fun! We are all different, and the Sneeches FINALLY figured it out that we are all cool and fun in our own way, we don't need the 'star' stamp of approval from society.
Theres more. But I just wanted to say, I love Dr. Seuss. He was a good ole boy that wrote good ole books.
Thank-you, Ted.

Cabin Fever

Oh. I don't like it. We don't have snow.  Ahhhhh cabin fever when will you go away. When will this nasty winter go away and we can have summer again. When???? There are a few catches though.
•No snow means no slush, no slush means no wet shoes and socks and no wet shoes and socks equals a happier me.
•No snow means that I can walk barefoot down to grandma's without getting too cold.  This saves the time of getting shoes on.
•No snow means that I can take the puppy on a walk on the semi-nicer days.
•We actually have had a pretty wonderful winter temperature wise, however no snow bummed me out on Christmas.

So REALLY, I don't have such a severe case of cabin fever, but can winter be done. Can Spring...spring?  Haha I know that that was not so funny, but it was supposed to be punny. And lets face it, most punny jokes are not funny. They are...um corny. and cheesy.
Not so funny, but that was worth a shot.

February Love

Yesterday I went out to the chicken yard. When I opened the door, the chickens were in the very very back of their yard. All seven of them came running. Maybe running is an understatement. They were flapping to get more momentum and were fly-running faster than I could probably run. They make you feel loved. I don't know if they know that I am the one who delivers their food every day, or if they actually like being around me. I know that chickens have been stereotyped as dumb. They even have a insult named after them... "dumb cluck".   And I don't know if they can feel emotions, let alone love. But I love my chickens. They are my pets. I love them.  And my friends all teased me because I was so sad when three of them died. But that is OK. Because they have never had pets like chickens.
I love my puppy dog too. I know that dogs can love you, and I'm pretty sure they know that you love 'em too. My puppy can make you feel like the most loved person in the world. One of my favorite parts of the day is when I walk in the door and she bolts straight at me.  She runs in circles around my feet and looks up at me like pick-me-up! pick-me-up! pick-me-up!!!!! kind of way. And her tail wags about a trillion miles per hour. And even if I have had the crappiest day in the whole world, I still feel like 'Wow,someone really does love me. Someone really does.' I love my dog too. Just a few minutes ago I danced her around a room like you would a baby. I held her warm little furry self and danced and spun and didn't feel the least bit stupid. And you know what was playing on the radio? 'Loves Gonna Make It.'  And I sang to her. To my puppy. She is a darling sweetheart.
I am so thankful that I always have someone, even something that loves me. Jesus always loves me. But sometimes I just forget that. I need to remember that more than I do regularly. Sure, my dog is always gonna love me, but Jesus, He died for me.  Jesus loves me so unconditionally that He gave his own life so that I could live mine without having the burden of my sins all the time. I love him too.
My family loves me too. And I love them back. There is nothing more I can say. What else could I ask for in my family. I have a mom and dad who are oh so supportive and that love me. I have wonderful siblings that are fun, I like to play with them. I might have grown out of the term 'playing' with friends, but I won't grow out of playing with my siblings any time soon. My mom and all of her brothers and sisters still play with each other. My uncles still play with their nieces and nephews and lets face it, Scott, Michael, Tim, Benji and Andrew are NEVER going to grow out of playing with each other! All of us are members of the church, and good ones too. We all love Jesus.
I think that we should remember more about the people and things that we love all the time. Not just in February. But February is a good month to remember. ♥♥♥

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games. Oh my goodness. Possibly the best books of my life! They are one of those series that eats you alive, the kind that you can read for 4 hours straight and not be in the slightest bored or tired. It is a trilogy that starts with The Hunger Games, followed by Catching Fire, and the last book is called  Mocking Jay.
I won't say the ending or any of the details, but I will give you the main plot line.
This is a post-apocalyptic book that has to do with a country that rose out of the ashes of  North America. The country is called Panem. It has one Capitol that is ringed by thirteen districts.  Each district provides a different resource for the Capitol. Like District 12 produces coal, while District 1 provides luxury items. The Capitol is wealthy and prospering, but the surrounding districts are facing poverty, starvation, and lots of death.
Once the 13 districts  had an uprising against the Capitol. The Capitol had a victory in the war, and district 13 was destroyed by a bomb.
Each year, to remind the districts that they are in control, the Capitol holds something called the Hunger Games. The Capitol takes 1 boy and 1 girl from each district , puts them in an arena, and forces them to kill one another, until there is only one left.
I know that these books sound terrible and terrifying, but they are so very good. I really suggest them for anyone over the age of 11 that wants a wonderful read.

They are FANTASTIC!!! However , I don't suggest it for 5th and under. There is some blood and other elements that may not be the best thing for younger children.

Pictures!!!

Just to let all of my dear followers know, I am open to all suggestions. I am thinking about starting to review movies and books on this blog. Thoughts? Ideas? I am open. Jenny writes to me- and quote " Uh hummm...member when you got a camera? We want pictures. We want pictures. We want pictures. For instance, how 'bout one of that fun painted room"   Yes that is what she wrote...so now I will go for it . Here goes. Whoo.

MEISJE!!!!! It is pronounced Mysha and it is Dutch. She it our little girl, thus naming her Meisje, which means little girl in dutch.

My nickname for her is Double Stuff, which is short for Triple Decker Double Stuff Oreo. That it what she looks like...am I right or am I right?

MY ROOM!!!!!!!! IT is, in real life,  much more bright yellow than it appears. I love it. Best Christmas Present of my whole LIFE!

You can't see it so good in any of the pictures I took, but this is beadboard and it looks fabuloso.

I have a Bath and Body  Works store in my closet. I have a walk in now. :)

Oh dear...

I have been so lazy about keeping all of you updated with the excitement and monotony of my everyday life. I have decided to write at least twice a week. So you shall all get regular updates on yours truly. I don't think that I have written a blog post longer than my middle finger up and down since....forever ago. Hmmm that needs to change. Well....lets start at where I stopped.
August 20 2011- Molly left, Utah State bound.
August 30 2011- I started as a 7th grader at Eagle Rock. What happened was that a 6th grade orientation I felt like 7th grade would be a breeze. Bout half way through the summer I felt like a scared little mouse. I came from a class of 60 ...which really is quite small. Two weeks before I decided I would buck up and be excited, so I was. Then 1st-day-of-school-eve came up. I felt like I was going to puke. I finally got to sleep and then in the morning, I felt that oh-no-I'm-gonna-spew feeling in my gut. So I got dressed. And I went to school. And I loved it with a oh-yay-this-is-awesome!!!!!!! feeling. I love Jr. High. It is so awesome. I like most all of my teachers. I like all of my classes except for 2. IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 27 2011-Syd turns 10.
November 15 2011- Daddy turns 49. Love ya old man!!!!!!
November 16 2011- I turned 13. Oh no, now mom has 3 teenager children and only one out of the house. Will she keep her sanity?
November 20 2011-I got a phone ( shared with Gabe)At long last!!! The deal was if I practiced my piano for 90 days I got a phone. And I did . So I got my cellular device. WHoo hoo!!!
December 9 2011- Nannah baby turned 6... what will we do with her?
December 25 2011-Christmas was so fun. And I  got my own painted, decorated room. YAY!
I am great. So is the fam. The End. I shall write again soon.

Sydney Is a Goober

Today I was teasing Sydney.  I was on the computer and so I clicked the search bar and typed in 'sydney is ' and the previous searches were as follows.
•sydney is cool
•sydney is awesome
•sydney is funny
•sydney is hot
I started laughing really hard. I asked Sydney if she really wanted to feel good on the day she searched all of those. She said yes. I wanted to see the other previous searches so I typed in 'sydney is a'  and the result was
•sydney is a GOOBER!!!!!!!!!   Oh dear...funny moments.
