Well two Wednesdays ago we did a practice for the DWA ( Direct Writing Assessment) and had to wirte about a bug. I know right? A bug? Sounds like fun huh? The scores you can get are a -1, 1, +1, -2, 2 ,+2 etc. 4+,being the highest, is a REALLY good score. Now on this particular practice, my teacher traded the papers from us to another school. This teacher gave me a 4+! here is the story I wrote.
Hannah's Beetle
Do you have a younger brother or sister that loves every bug they see? I certainly do! My little sister has loved lots of bugs, but I remember this one best.
"Lacey! Come look at my beetle!" my youngest sister Hannah yelled. "I'm coming Hannah!" I yelled back. It had been an awesome Thursday. My uncles had come to help my mom, who had broken her wrist, paint our house.
As I walked into my three year old sister's bedroom, I immediately saw what she called me for. In a small plastic lunch baggie there was a small, shiny, ugly, black beetle.
I like bugs, so I asked Hannah where she got it." Me and Micheal and Scotty found it outside!" Hannah said, loving the prospect of having a new pet. Her cheeks were still rosy from being outside. " That is really cool Hannie!" I replied.
The next day was Friday. It was a very typical, normal Friday. The routine was the same as ever. Get up, get dressed, go to school, be bored all day, come home.
After a (very boring) school day,I was in Hannah's room helping my mommy. Hannah was playing with her (almost dead) beetle. Apparently the beetle was not doing what she wanted it to because Hannah started to squish her beetle.
" No Hannah! Don't kill i......" I said but I was too late. Hannah had already killed her bug.
This was one of many bugs that Hannah has loved. Well, at least I thought that she loved it.
Well, that is my story .and by the way Happy Thanksgiving to everybody who reads this.
P.S. I'm still tyring to get my Birthday Pictures up! Be patient!
